ticTOCs Journal Table of Contents Service
http://www.tictocs.ac.uk/

ticTOCs is a project which is developing a freely available journal tables of contents (TOCs) service. The initial 'beta' service will be further developed over the coming months, with more TOCs and new features to be added. The primary aim of the project is to make it easy for academics and researchers to keep up-to-date with newly published scholarly material by enabling them to find, display, store, combine and reuse tables of contents from multiple publishers in a personalisable web based environment, without having to understand the technical or procedural concepts involved in the process. Other aims of the project are to enable TOC content reuse at third party sites; develop advocacy materials on journal TOC RSS standardisation; and enable library and information services, commercial and open access journal publishers, gateways, content aggregators and journal directories evaluation to allow their users to embed journal TOC RSS feeds into a personalisable web-based environment. The ticTOCs Consortium consists of: the University of Liverpool Library (lead), Heriot-Watt University, CrossRef, ProQuest, Emerald, RefWorks, MIMAS, Cranfield University, Institute of Physics, SAGE Publishers, Inderscience Publishers, DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), Open J-Gate, and Intute. This has been added to the tools section of Research Resources Subject Tracerâ„¢ Information Blog.
