Frontiers in Neuroinformatics
http://www.frontiersin.org/neuroinformatics/

Frontiers in Neuroinformatics is an electronic journal devoted to studies on the creation of neuroscience data and knowledge bases, together with the development and use of numerical models and analytical tools for the sharing, integration and analysis of experimental data and the advancement of theories of nervous system function. Neuroscience is being propelled into the information age as the volume of information explodes, demanding organization and synthesis. Novel synthesis approaches are opening up a new dimension for the exploration of the components of brain elements and systems and the vast number of variables that underlie their functions. Neural data is highly heterogeneous with complex inter-relations across multiple levels, driving the need for innovative organizing and synthesizing approaches from genes to cognition, and covering a range of species and disease states. Frontiers in Neuroinformatics therefore welcomes submissions on existing neuroscience databases, development of data and knowledge bases for all levels of neuroscience, applications and technologies that can facilitate data sharing (interoperability, formats, terminologies, and ontologies), and novel tools for data acquisition, analyses, visualization, and dissemination of nervous system data. Their journal welcomes submissions on new tools (software and hardware) that support brain modeling, and the merging of neuroscience databases with brain models used for simulation and visualization. They also welcome submissions on clinical neuroscience databases and the use of novel informatics approaches to merge clinical with basic neuroscience data. Frontiers in Neuroinformatics aims to catalyze advances in this immense area of research to support neuroscience in the information age.

KnightCite - Online Citation Generator
http://www.calvin.edu/library/knightcite/index.php

KnightCite is an online citation generator service provided by the Hekman Library of Calvin College. This service simplifies the often tedious task of compiling an accurate bibliography in the appropriate style by formatting the given data on a source into a reliable citation, eliminating the need to memorize minute details of style for multiple kinds of sources. The service is provided free of charge by the college, and is available to members both within and outside of the Calvin community. There is no advertising on the site, and those who choose to register on the site will have the option of saving all of their citations and even multiple bibliographies to their account. KnightCite is unique in that it can generate citations for the three main academic citation styles: Modern Language Association (MLA), American Psychological Association (APA), or Chicago Manual of Style. Print or electronic resources may be cited, as well as a wide variety of others (particularly in the MLA style) ranging from sacred texts to cartoons. Users may save all of their citations for a given project and instantly alphabetize or edit them. Citations in one bibliography can be copied into another. When a bibliography is complete, the program can export it into an rtf or word document with the appropriate format and hanging indents so it is ready to print. These features are easy-to use and accurate, so students can quickly create a bibliography page without worrying about points being marked off for syntactical details. Capitol Words - Word Frequency From the Congressional Record
http://www.capitolwords.org/

For every day Congress is in session, Capitol Words visualizes the most frequently used words in the Congressional Record, giving you an at-a-glance view of which issues lawmakers address on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis. Capitol Words lets you see what are the most popular words spoken by lawmakers on the House and Senate floor. But wait, there's more! Capitol Words also gives you the ability to view with greater granularity which words are most frequently used by Congress as a whole, by state delegation or by specific lawmaker. It also reports on word usage trends: You can search by specific word to see its usage frequency over time, including which lawmakers most mention that term. You can also compare usage of individual terms (e.g., health vs. education) or groups of terms (e.g., health + education vs. war + terror). You can see who are the most vocal or quietest members of Congress (i.e., those who have the most or least words attributed to them in the Congressional Record, including via extended remarks). The Capitol Words site is powered by data collected by Sunlight's LOUIS database from GPO Access. Its API provides several methods of accessing detailed information from the Capitol Words database. All data, the calendar view of the word of the day and charts showing word usage trends go back to the second session of the 106th Congress (January 24, 2000). Views that attribute word usage to lawmakers date back to the beginning of the 110th Congress (January 3, 2007). Evolutionary Biology
http://www.springer.com/life+sci/journal/11692

Evolutionary Biology is dedicated to the view that evolutionary theory is a unifying framework for the biosciences. The journal is a forum in which critical reviews, original research, commentaries, and controversial views are brought together to contribute to greater understanding of the origins and diversity of life. This vision reflects the original intent of the serial publication Evolutionary Biology, first published in 1967 as a forum in which some of the most important papers in Evolutionary Biology appeared. The topics varied greatly and many of the papers were synthetic in nature. Although some existing journals deal with various facets of evolutionary biology, Evolutionary Biology fills the need for a journal which remains
true to the vision and intent laid out by Dobzhansky et al. but that is adapted to today's publication environment. Evolutionary Biology provides a focal point for broad syntheses, in-depth treatment and controversial ideas.

http://www.gsejournal.org/home/

Genetics Selection Evolution is an open access, peer-reviewed, on-line journal dedicated to presenting original research on all aspects of genetics and selection in both farm and experimental animals and in any related species. With the vast, recent increase in the amount and spectrum of available genetic data, there is an ever-increasing requirement for the collaboration and successful integration of varied results and techniques in furthering the advancement of the future of animal genetics. The journal invites basic, applied and methodological content that will aid the current understanding of animal genetic variability as well as further its use. GSE publishes results from all levels of study, from the gene to the quantitative trait, from the individual to the population, the breed or the species. Material concerning both the biological approach, from molecular genetics to animal sciences, as well as the mathematical one, from population genetics to statistics, is welcome. Specific areas of interest include: gene identification, mapping, QTL and markers, functional genomics, cytogenetics, genetic diversity of populations and breeds, genetic evaluation, applied and experimental selection, statistical methodology of quantitative and mixed inheritance.
