Monday, November 30, 2009 Leapfish - Living the Web http://www.leapfish.com/ The Web has evolved. It used to be a place where people came to just search for simple information. Now it’s a place where people come to also share information. Information today that is multi-media and more complex. Information today that is real-time and social – recommended by people who know, and people you know. We call this new place The Living Web, and thy have designed an evolved engine to help you get the most from it – a service to help you live the new web. Although we have many ways to search and share information, the current experience is fragmented, ineffective, and ultimately inefficient. On the search side, there are a growing number of disconnected sites for traditional search, niche interests, audio, video, imagery and more. On the sharing side, there is a universe of segregated social networks, blogs, real-time content, multi-media portals and more. This growing disconnection and segregation is the challenge thy have decided to embrace. By providing a single, connected, multi-media experience for both searching and sharing traditional and real-time content, they are hoping to make the new web easier, more integrated and efficient. They believe their new web experience benefits everyone online. Existing portals and services benefit from a new found search integration that offers them more user engagement. Consumers benefit with access to more of the information the new web has to offer, that was previously tucked away. But most of all, it benefits you, those living the web by searching and sharing the freshest, most relevant and most interesting content available anywhere. The journal is fundamentally different from many journals of numerical analysis, computational analysis, and algorithms. The acceptance of papers is judged on the use of mathematical techniques and/or engineering methodology in the computational analysis, and in the engineering of the solutions and simulations of complex industrial and real life systems. Articles describing carefully tested computational techniques, including post-processing visualisation, for real life systems are welcome on the basis of the above criteria. Articles dealing with mathematical models, computational analysis, and computational processes, must be driven by applications with industrial and real life relevance and are judged on the basis of the above criteria. Automated Experimentation aims to provide a platform for biomedical and informatics researchers to develop, execute, reuse, share, revise, and recombine their automated experimentation processes or protocols. There is no substitute for scientific experimentation in discovering new reliable knowledge however experimentation is highly expensive. Therefore it is desirable to automate the execution of a cluster of experiments according to pre-specified computational protocols. With recent and ongoing developments in engineering (e.g. Labs-on-a-chip), laboratory robotics, and informatics, automated experimentation is crucial for expediting large-scale research like systems biology and translational medicine. Automated Experimentation features the methodology, protocols, and significant results of automated experiments for easy sharing among laboratories worldwide. Automated Experimentation covers all fields that are related to high-throughput and automated experimentation. Topical areas include (but are not limited to): * Use of experiment protocols and scientific workflows * Representing experiment protocols, apparatus and data in domain-specific languages * Verification and validation methods * Instrument, apparatus or robotic setups * Robot scientists and intelligent experimentation systems * Web-based and computational experimentation * Software for automating the experiment process * Biomedical and clinical experimentation * Scientific findings obtained by automated experiments * Knowledge sharing infrastructures applied to experimentation * eScience and eResearch * Philosophy, theories and formalisms * Methods of hypothesis generation * Capturing the process of arguments in automated experiments posted by Marcus Zillman | 4:31 AM ![]() Sayabit - Send Large Files Via Short URLs http://sayabit.com/ Sayabit, pronounced "SAY A BIT", is a links based file storage service from Sayagle which not only shortens and redirects long URLs but also gives you the ability to upload images, documents & files for sharing via short personalized URLs.
