Psychometrika, the official journal of the Psychometric Society, is devoted to the development of psychology as a quantitative rational science, including the advancement of theory and methodology for behavioral data analysis in psychology, education, and the social and behavioral sciences generally. There are three main sections in Psychometrika: Theory & Methods, Application Reviews & Case Studies(ARCS), and Book Reviews. Theory and Methods is the primary section, and it contains articles on the development of quantitative models for psychological phenomena, and on quantitative methodology in the social and behavioral sciences, including new mathematical and statistical techniques for the evaluation of psychological data, and the application of such techniques. Empirical studies will be considered only if they involve new or particularly interesting uses of quantitative techniques. Articles about the development and/or results of specific tests will generally not be considered. Application Reviews & Case Studies (ARCS) is the newest section of Psychometrika, and it is designed to highlight the essential connection between data analysis and modelling methodology and its application to data in psychology, education sciences, and related areas in the social sciences and marketing, in a way that deepens the substantive understanding of phenomena in one of these disciplines.

Impressive - Stylish Way of Giving Presentations
http://impressive.sourceforge.net/

Impressive is a program that displays presentation slides. But unlike OpenOffice.org Impress or other similar applications, it does so with style. Smooth alpha-blended slide transitions are provided for the sake of eye candy, but in addition to this, Impressive offers some unique tools that are really useful for presentations. Creating presentations for Impressive is very simple: You just need to export a PDF file from your presentation software. This means that you can create slides in the application of your choice and use Impressive for displaying them. If your application does not support PDF output, you can alternatively use a set of pre-rendered image files – or you use Impressive to make a slideshow with your favorite photos. Metaphysica
http://www.metaphysica.de/

The journal Metaphysica is published semi-annually. The editors aim to create an international forum of ontology and metaphysics for readers all over the world. In the Anglo-Saxon countries (in particular the USA and Australia) the volume of research publications in ontology and metaphysics significantly increased during the last two decades. European philosophers, on the other hand, initially seemed reticent to address ontological and metaphysical topics, undoubtedly due to deeply rooted Kantian ideas about the "end of metaphysics." Since the nineties, however, sentiments have changed in favour of a new 'ontological turn' within Central European philosophy. In Austria, Switzerland, and Germany an increasing number of philosophical publications present systematic treatments of ontological and metaphysical issues. At the same time there is a new strong interest in reviewing historical contributions to ontology and metaphysics, from Parmenides to Plato, Aristotle, Occam, Leibniz and further to Brentano, Husserl, and Nicolai Hartmann. Since there is no other European journal devoted to the discussion of ontological and metaphysical issues in particular, the editors found it necessary to fill this gap by founding the journal Metaphysica.

Next Billion - Development Through Enterprise
http://www.nextbillion.net/

hey chose Next Billion for its dual meaning: on the one hand, the phrase represents the next billion people to rise into the middle class from the base of the economic pyramid (BoP); on the other, it indicates the next billion(s) in profits for businesses that fill market gaps by integrating the BoP into formal economies. NextBillion.net is a website and blog bringing together the community of business leaders, social entrepreneurs, NGOs, policy makers and academics who want to explore the connection between development and enterprise. It is a discussion forum, networking space and knowledge base for individuals and organizations interested in the "next billion".
