CloudApp - Share Files Fast
http://www.getcloudapp.com/

CloudApp allows you to share images, links, music, videos and files. Here is how it works: choose a file, drag it to the menubar and let us take care of the rest. We provide you with a short link automatically copied to your clipboard that you can use to share your upload with co-workers and friends. Additionally you can view, track and delete files right from your menubar. Drag and drop files directly from Finder, define a hotkey to trigger an upload of a file or screenshot and print to CloudApp from any application on your Mac. CloudApp allows you to share, access and organize your uploads from anywhere in the world through an intuitive web interface.
You can upload images on the go with our image uploader for the iPhone available soon on the iTunes App Store. If that's not enough, use the same API our apps use to view and manage your uploads. CloudApp is powered by Heroku and Amazon's Simple Storage Service. Files are redundantly stored on multiple devices across multiple storage facilities preventing data corruption and loss. You can sleep well at night knowing your files are safe. CloudApp ships with a range of plugins called Raindrops allowing you to extend functionality to your favorite applications for the Mac. Download Raindrops for iPhoto, iTunes, Photoshop and many more. Third-party developers can use the same technologies used by CloudApp's built-in functionality for their own applications. Threadbox - Effortless Collaboration
http://www.threadbox.com/

The real time discussion tracking, file sharing, schedule coordinating, project managing, decision making tool that works right alongside email - and just might replace it. Threadbox is a simple and pragmatic collaboration platform that helps workgroups effortlessly increase productivity by harnessing the group's conversations, files, tasks, dates, and opinions. Threadbox began in November 2008 when founders Michael Cerda and Ben Dean recognized an opportunity to make collaboration as easy as email and instant messaging, yet as comprehensive as a traditional collaboration service. The end result would improve productivity for small workgroup communication and collaboration. Threadbox initially launched as Cc:Betty at DEMO Spring 2009, and from there grew, nurtured and iterated the platform with a beta customer base throughout 2009. A year later, in Spring 2010, the result of many months of customer and product development yielded Threadbox, the easiest collaboration service ever. Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS)
http://aws.amazon.com/sns/?ref_=pe_8050_15058410

Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS) is a web service that makes it easy to set up, operate, and send notifications from the cloud. It provides developers with a highly scalable, flexible, and cost-effective capability to publish messages from an application and immediately deliver them to subscribers or other applications. It is designed to make web-scale computing easier for developers. Amazon SNS provides a simple web services interface that can be used to create topics you want to notify applications (or people) about, subscribe clients to these topics, publish messages, and have these messages delivered over clients’ protocol of choice (i.e. HTTP, email, etc.). Amazon SNS delivers notifications to clients using a “push” mechanism that eliminates the need to periodically check or “poll” for new information and updates. Amazon SNS can be leveraged to build highly reliable, event-driven workflows and messaging applications without the need for complex middleware and application management. The potential uses for Amazon SNS include monitoring applications, workflow systems, time-sensitive information updates, mobile applications, and many others. As with all Amazon Web Services, there are no up-front investments required, and you pay only for the resources you use. Journal of Biomedical Semantics
http://www.jbiomedsem.com/

Journal of Biomedical Semantics is an open access journal that encompasses all aspects of semantic resources used for data integration, modeling, interpretation and exploitation in biomedical research. Research in biology and biomedicine relies on various types of biomedical data, information and knowledge, represented in databases with experimental and/or curated data, ontologies, literature, taxonomies, etc. Semantics is essential for accessing, integrating and analyzing such data. The ability to explicitly extract, assign and manage semantic representations is crucial for making computational approaches in the biomedical domain productive for a large user community. Journal of Biomedical Semantics aims to address issues of semantic enrichment and semantic processing in the biomedical domain, and comprises practical and theoretical advances in biomedical semantics research with implications for data analysis. In recent years, the availability and use of electronic resources representing biomedical knowledge has greatly increased, covering ontologies, taxonomies, literature, databases, and bioinformatics services. These electronic resources contribute to advances in the biomedical domain and require interoperability between them through various semantic descriptors. In addition, the availability and integration of semantic resources is a key part in facilitating semantic web approaches for life sciences leading into reasoning and other advanced ways to analyse biomedical data. The scope of the journal covers two main areas:

* Infrastructure for biomedical semantics, focusing on semantic resources and repositories, meta-data management and resource description, knowledge representation and semantic frameworks, Biomedical Semantic Web, semantic interoperability, and particularly, life-long management of semantic resources.

* Semantic mining, annotation and analysis, focusing on approaches and applications of semantic resources and tools for investigation, reasoning, prediction and discoveries in biomedicine.

An intranet version of this new system completes the public version, enabling the uploading of Ifremer’s internal document production. In addition to its indexing and archiving functions, this repository provides new services including a wide range of bibliometric analysis tools (e.g. : the automatic calculation of the bibliometric document production indicators defined by Ifremer and the different ministries in charge, the automatic generation of the activity report of each Ifremer research departments, ...). This centralisation of Ifremer’s document production will replace a number of different systems currently used by Ifremer teams to carry out such tasks. DemocracyMap - Database of Government Jurisdictions/Entities, Their Websites, and Elected Officials Contact Information
http://pages.e-democracy.org/DemocracyMap

Plan and build a universal, free, open, shared and continuously updated database of government jurisdictions/entities, their websites, and over time add elected official contact information. In the United States there are approximately 30,000 government jurisdictions. There is no official database of the websites tied to each jurisdiction be it a city, school district, or some relatively obscure special district. Business.Gov, an effort of the Small Business Administration, recently released an API with 8,000 or so city and county websites raising interest across many organizations in how to to cover ALL government organizations. Once collecting and maintaining a directory of all government jurisdiction web addresses and a way to find your jurisdiction by entering a street address or by using a map is addressed, then deepening data collection to elected officials and all government owned or funded websites will be explored. Board800 can be deployed on your own servers and the sessions can easily be controlled at your end including: a) It is a ready to use whiteboard application, which means Zero integration is required to make it functional; b) The client end uses a .swf file, so there's no installation required except having the latest Flash client (Adobe Flash version 10 or above). It is completely web based and very responsive; c) Board800 uses Red5 Media Server for its synchronization; d) Red5 Media Server is an open source replacement for Flash Media Server, and is platform independent. So, it can be deployed on your Linux or Windows servers without any trouble; e) The server ports and protocol can be defined as per your requirements (using rtmp://, rtmpt:// or rtmps://); f) At the backend it supports MySQL. So you have all your data saved at reliable location which can be easily backed up as well as integrated with your existing infrastructure; h) Deploying Board800 is very convenient, even for a person who has no prior experience with Flash/Flex based applications and/or Red5 Media Server; and i) Source code licensing is also available in case you wish to modify the code. Desktopify - Build Widgets for Windows and Mac
http://desktopify.com/

Desktopify is the web platform for converting web widgets for the desktop. With Desktopify you can make stand-alone desktop widgets for Windows and Mac. They made Desktopify for online businesses or webmasters who take care of their users and brand. Desktopify is the bridge between the web and the desktop. It allows you to establish your website´s (or just part of it) presence on user´s desktops. There are two worlds: web and desktop. With the huge success of Web 2.0 they saw the evolution of web applications and sites, and noticed that there is a big gap between the desktop and web philosophy. They decided to wrap one to another. Their idea is to help websites move to the desktop and provide a well known desktop interface for their users. Their approach "Install only the widgets you want, and skip the other garbage.". With the help of Desktopify you take place on your user´s desktop. Your website is always one click away. You provide your service in real-time right to the desktop. You increase your traffic and improve user loyalty. Your widget doesn´t interfere or compete with other widgets in sidebar. Your users don´t need to install a framework. There is simply your widget, on the user´s desktop. This has been added to eCommerce Resources Subject Tracer™ Information Blog.
