Microsoft Academic Search
http://academic.research.microsoft.com/

Explore 15,751,493 publications and 11,144,236 authors, 193 updated last week. Microsoft Academic Search is a free academic search engine developed by Microsoft Research, which also serves as a test-bed for our object-level vertical search research. Microsoft Academic Search provides many innovative ways to explore scientific publications, authors, conferences, journals, organizations and keywords, connecting millions of scholars, students, librarians, and other users. In Microsoft Academic Search, objects in the search results are sorted based on two factors: their relevance to the query and their global importance. The relevance score of an object is computed by its attributes; and the importance score of an object is calculated by its relationships with other objects. This has been added to the tools section of Research Resources Subject Tracerâ„¢ Information Blog. This will be added to Academic and Scholar Search Engines and Sources white paper.
