Another excellent subject directory is on the horizon with http://www.wondir.org Looks to be an open source project much like http://www.dmoz.org and will have additional features such as experts, global resource for FAQs, global resource for reference libraries questions et.al. Defintely worth watching and or participating as a volunteer!!

After reading Dave Winer's email yesterday I see some very very exciting things happening when you combine directories and Google! By using OPML (Outline Processor Markup Language) and editing it with an Outliner you can literally compete to be the authority on any subject.....a great subject tracer concept.....
