Cosmic Distance Scales
http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/cosmic/cosmic.html

Cosmic Distance Scales graphically portrays the distances in outer space. Zoom out from Earth to the solar system to nearest star system to solar neighborhood to Milky Way Galaxy to nearest galaxies to .... At each stopping point there is information about the image, the object, "what kinds of units astronomers use when referring to distances of that magnitude ..., how distances to that kind of object are determined, why these distances are important to astronomers, and how long it would take for us to travel from Earth to that object."
