Welcome to Snapshots of Science and Medicine. Snapshots is a creation of the Office of Science Education of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Md. The effort is funded by the NIH Office of Research on Women's Health. Today, biological science--both basic research and clinical application--is booming like never before. And with so much happening in biology and medicine, science students and teachers need a vehicle for bringing the world of biological research into their science classrooms.
