Digital World Research Centre
http://www.surrey.ac.uk/dwrc/

The Digital World Research Centre (DWRC) is a multidisciplinary research centre in the School of Human Sciences that investigates the relationships between people, society and digital technologies. DWRC brings together researchers from all branches of social sciences to undertake academic and commercial projects. This multidisciplinary approach enables it to deliver unique insights into the social shaping of technology and in particular: a) what new technologies people might want and find valuable, b) how new technologies change our lives and how our daily lives change technology, and c) how new technologies interact with society, government and the marketplace. As well as undertaking projects sponsored by the UK Research Councils and the European Union, DWRC has undertaken projects for mobile phone operators and blue-chip technology companies. Past and present projects cover issues such as how people communicate, how they work and play, and how they shop. This has been added to Research Resources Subject Tracerâ„¢ Information Blog.
