ISBN.nu - Search for Books and Compare Prices
http://isbn.nu/

This site is a proof of concept of several ideas about information management, organization, and linkage. It's also an attempt to show how smarter systems combined with cleaner URLs can create shortcuts around roadblocks. Originally, it linked ISBNs to individual book pages. With the addition of a database of book information, you can search quickly - and without any promotional material or publisher-funded results - through nearly three million in-print and just out-of-print books available in the U.S., and occasionally elsewhere. The results link you directly, again without fuss or intermediate steps, to the page at the bookstore from which you want to place the order. The results show shipping if you choose, and can be sorted from fastest to slowest availability (from order placed through arrival at your doorstep), or lowest to highest price. For customers outside the U.S., you can choose a variety of shipping methods and enter your current exchange rate to see the results in local currency with the full price of the order (for a single book). Prices are stored for up to a day, reducing load on online bookstores for popular titles. This system redirects using affiliate links in many cases, generating revenue via commissions from sales that result from the end of a journey that starts here. This has been added to ShoppingBots Subject Tracerâ„¢ Information Blog.
