iZoca - Free Group Networking Platform
http://www.izoca.com/

iZoca connects the world around you from your perspective, to help organize your life. Utilizing a platform that combines social networks with organizational tools, iZoca provides a new and simple way for individuals, groups and organizations to manage projects, plan events and activities. The name iZoca is derived from the Spanish word “zocalo” meaning a square or plaza where people congregate. iZoca was founded in September, 2007 and is located in New York's Tech Valley Region. When a person joins iZoca there are several tools available to them. Each member has their own dynamic personal calendar they can use to create private events. If they decide to join a group, all the events from the group they join can populate their personal iZoca calendar (see Calendar). An iZoca member can create their own group, for any reason, and invite others to join. They can search and join groups that are found in the iZoca directory and create customized profiles for each of their groups. Members can connect with other iZoca members and exchange private messages. iZoca members can join or create as many groups as they want to stay connected.
