The International Research Center for Japanese Studies performs the role of a resource center by providing information and bibliographical assistance to scholars and research institutions both in Japan and overseas. Research themes are established from an international perspective, enlisting the participation of numerous scholars from Japan and abroad, Interdisciplinary team research is the Center's fundamental mode of scholarship. The Center's refereed English-language journal, Japan Review is an annual compilation of articles, research notes and materials, and other work on Japanese culture and civilization. It is open to all authors. Japan Review is available free of charge as an Open Access journal on the Internet. Articles available in PDF format.
