PPMLite, LLC was founded in 2008. It started out of frustration from managing a portfolio of projects with Microsoft Excel, email, and phone calls. The weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc firedrills to compile, analyze, and report on the portfolio was difficult and inefficient. The challenge compounded exponentially at each successive management tier because of the need to roll-up multiple project portfolios. An investigation into possible solutions identified a significant gap between nothing/Excel and large, expensive and overly complex enterprise applications often with an IT-centric bias. PPMLite intends to fill the gap with an easy-to-use, affordable yet effective tool for firms to manage their project portfolio across a range of functional areas, including marketing, operations, sales, IT, etc. This has been added to the tools section of Research Resources Subject Tracer&trader; Inbformation Blog.
