The Southeast Asia Digital Library began work in 2005 as a result of funding provided by the United States Department of Education’s TICFIA (Technological Innovation and Cooperation for Foreign Information Access) Program. The project is based at Northern Illinois University Libraries in DeKalb, Illinois, USA and collaborates actively with the Committee on Research Materials on Southeast Asia (CORMOSEA) and partner institutions.
