google-fastcat is an open source search engine which is powerful and simple. It licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0 and sponsored by WebSquared Inc. It could be used for either enterprise or public web service. It is designed easy to extend functions, users can easily customize their own search engine. These are google-fastcat's version 0.1 features. Features include: a) Fast Indexing Time - Indexing 10G documents in 1.5 hours; b) Small Indexing File Size - Indexing filesize is as small as 70% of original text file; c) Fast Search Time - Elaborate program makes high performance results. Most search time is within 100ms; d) Restorable - Every indexing files are versioned. Data is safe even when crashing; e) Custom Job Executor - User can make a custom job and schedule it as well as execute it immediately; f) Various Search Functions - It has every features - exact search, range search, grouping, filtering, ranking, summary, highlighting; g) Dictionary - Handle synonym, filtering words and custom user dictionary; and h) Easy Managing - Provide managing tool on the web, and it's easy to use.
