The visibility of various open-source projects varies greatly, as well as the quality of documentation and installation procedures. As a categorized, searchable listing of source-code packages, Binpress attempts to reduce the time and pain associated with finding out open-source solutions while increasing visibility for developers who are listed. By adding the commercial element to open-source, we are able to invest in marketing, SEO and PPC campaigns, as well as cross promotions with other sites in order to increase visibility for our hosted projects.
