TextChannels is a social news aggregator. Instead of having subsections for different subjects, users create, customize and moderate news channels. Members can follow news channels, give stars to posts and comment. Channel moderators can remove posts and comments, or block abusive users. Voting for comments is more complex than in most news aggregators. Instead of having a simple up/down button, readers can vote for multiple parameters (e.g. funny, useful etc). News channels have different presentation needs. Channel administrators can fine tune their sorting algorithms for both posts and comments to fit their preferences.
