OpenDOAR - Directory of Open Access Repositories
http://www.opendoar.org/

The OpenDOAR service is being developed to support the rapidly emerging movement towards Open Access to research information. This will categorise and list the wide variety of Open Access research archives that have grown up around the world. Such repositories have mushroomed over the last 2 years in response to calls by scholars and researchers worldwide to provide open access to research information. OpenDOAR is building a comprehensive and authoritative list of institutional and subject-based repositories, as well as archives set up by funding agencies - like the National Institutes for Health in the USA or the Wellcome Trust in the UK and Europe. Users of the service are able to analyse repositories by location, type, the material they hold and other measures. This can be of use both to users wishing to find original research papers and for third-party "service providers", like search engines or alert services, which need easy to use tools for developing tailored search services to suit specific user communities. Each of the OpenDOAR repositories has been visited by project staff to check the information that is recorded. This in-depth approach gives a quality-controlled list of repository features. In addition, while reviewing these archives, project staff are building a picture of the world-wide development of open access repositories, noting new features and directions. This information is being analysed to create the next version of the listing, with further information and categories being noted for each repository. In the meantime, the current list will continue to grow as new repositories are added. The project is a joint collaboration between the University of Nottingham in the UK and the Lund University in Sweden. Both institutions are active in supporting Open Access development. Lund operates the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), which is known throughout the world. Nottingham leads SHERPA, an institutional repository partnership that has helped establish Open Access archives in 20 leading UK research universities. Nottingham also runs the SHERPA/RoMEO database, which is used worldwide as a reference for publisher's copyright policies. This has been added to Academic and Scholar Search Engines and Sources White Paper. This will be added to Academic Resources 2006 Internet MiniGuide. American Journal of Biblical Theology

American Journal of Biblical Theology
http://www.biblicaltheology.com/

The purpose of the Journal of Biblical Theology is to provide an outlet for theologians and theology students in the field of Biblical Theology to share their research in a peer-reviewed monthly journal environment. Consequently, papers are invited to be submitted by graduate students and those who have completed graduate degrees in any field of Christian theology and/or biblical studies. It is not the intent of this journal to stifle religious thought or expression by specifying a narrow viewpoint concerning Biblical interpretation. Therefore, the only doctrinal statements that are adhered to in this journal serve to maintain its integrity as a journal of Biblical Theology. Though other theological schools may be published and represented, the context of the editors and reviewers will adhere to the following statement: a) The sole basis of authority for Biblical Theology is the Bible, and b) The Bible, in its original form, is without any mixture of error or contradiction. Believe it or not, they state that they are able to successfully mediate p2p connections in roughly 97% of all cases they dealt with so far (few tens of thousands as of early March). This includes peers sitting behind different firewalls and/or broadband routers (aka NAT devices). It is high-tech and it is really cool :) This has been added to the P2P section of Deep Web Research Subject Tracer™ Information Blog.

The concept of change management and how people deal with it has gained much attention in the fields of human and organisational behaviour, psychology, business administration, operation management, and information systems. Technology and business improvements are needed in modern society, and finding effective ways for managing the process of changes is the key to success in a highly competitive and global business environment.

Motion picture studios, television networks, companies, organizations, and individuals are able to publish unlimited amounts of broadcast video content to the network, providing consumers with unparalleled choice in television programming, and control over their viewing experience. Veoh provides a secure delivery system that prevents piracy and provides publishers unprecedented control over their content. Veoh believes that this democratization of television broadcasting is as profound as the change that was brought on by the World Wide Web, which democratized print publishing. Just like there are millions of web sites, produced by enthusiasts to professionals, so will there be millions of TV shows that are produced, providing compelling content for every imaginable interest and desire. EURES - The European Job Mobility Portal

EURES - The European Job Mobility Portal
http://europa.eu.int/eures/home.jsp?lang=en

EURES (EURopean Employment Services) brings together the European Commission and the public employment services of the countries belonging to the European Economic Area and Switzerland. Other regional and national bodies concerned with employment issues are also included, such as trade unions, employers' organisations, as well as local and regional authorities. The purpose of the EURES network is to provide services for the benefit of workers and employers as well as any citizen wishing to benefit from the principle of the free movement of persons. This involves three types of service provision: information, advice and recruitment/placement (job-matching). The EURES network comprises the EURES members (the national public employment services and the European Commission) and, within the framework of the EURES cross-border partnerships, EURES partners such as trade unions and employers' organisations, and local and regional authorities. In the context of the European employment strategy, the mobility of workers is not only a fundamental right, but also a tool to help the labour market adapt to developments. EURES is playing an increasing role in identifying the surpluses and deficits of manpower in different sectors, and in overcoming qualification bottlenecks. The network also helps improve employability, particularly that of young people, through the acquisition of professional experience abroad. EURES also contributes to the creation of a common European labour market, as well as, in certain border regions, to the establishment of an integrated regional labour market. Ontology Metadata Vocabulary (OMV)
http://omv.ontoware.org/

Ontologies have seen quite an enormous development and application in many domains within the last years, especially in the context of the next web generation, the Semantic Web. Besides the work of countless researchers across the world, industry starts developing ontologies to support their daily operative business. Currently, most ontologies exist in pure form without any additional information, e.g. authorship information, such as provided by Dublin Core for text documents. This burden makes it difficult for academia and industry e.g. to identify, find and apply - basically meaning to reuse - ontologies effectively and efficiently. Our contribution consists of a proposal for a metadata standard, so called Ontology Metadata Vocabulary OMV. Oyster - Managing, Searching and Sharing Ontology Metadata in a Peer-to-Peer Network.
http://oyster.ontoware.org/

Oyster is a java-based system, which assists researchers in managing, searching and sharing ontology metadata in a peer-to-peer network. Currently, ontology re-use is rather difficult, as it is hard to find and share ontologies available among the community. This leads to the problem of having many isolated ontologies created by many different parties. Besides the costs of the duplicate efforts this also hampers interoperability between ontology-based applications. Oyster 1 is a Peerto-Peer application that exploits semantic web techniques in order to provide a solution for exchanging and re-using ontologies. Besides, the Oyster client on its own (e.g. disconnected from the P2P network) provides added value to it's users as it will give researchers an overview and search facilities of his/her own ontology metadata. This has been added to Research Resources Subject Tracer™ Information Blog. This has been added to the P2P section of Deep Web Research Subject Tracer™ Information Blog.

NoteTaker is powerful new OS X software for organizing your information lifestyle, your digital workstyle. At its most basic level, NoteTaker is a personal note and idea organizer. With NoteTaker, you can make a list, organize an outline or jot down an idea. It's that basic. But with everyday work and lifestyle demands, our information needs are far more complex and diverse. And NoteTaker reflects this reality so that users can add and change the content and use of their information as needed. NoteTaker's user interface metaphor uses a visually rich "spiral" notebook pages with section tabs. Some users will simply have one tab and a long list of outlines while others will organize entire project and research journals with many sections and many pages within those tab sections. And it makes no difference how you decide to organize and use NoteTaker, it's flexible yet easy to understand. It's like having electronic paper on your OS X desktop. In short, NoteTaker applications are unlimited. From managing the daily to do list information to sharing a project team binder across the Internet, NoteTaker becomes the software of our everyday lifestyle. Use it to communicate ideas. Organize personal information. Keep a project journal. Think on paper. NoteTaker is software you'll want to use every single day. ChemIDplus Database
http://sis.nlm.nih.gov/chemical.html

ChemIDplus is a database of over 375,000 chemicals, synonyms, structures, regulatory list information, and links to other databases and is a free, web-based search system that provides access to structure and nomenclature authority files used for the identification of chemical substances cited in National Library of Medicine (NLM) databases, including the TOXNET® system. ChemIDplus also provides structure searching and direct links to many biomedical resources at NLM and on the Internet for chemicals of interest. The database contains over 379,000 chemical records, of which over 257,000 include chemical structures, and is searchable by Name, Synonym, CAS Registry Number, Molecular Formula, Classification Code, Locator Code, and Structure. There are two new versions of this database. The ChemIDplus Lite version is available for simplified Name and RN searching without the need for plugins or applets. ChemIDplus Advanced allows chemical structure and biological/chemical property searching to be done. To use ChemIDplus Advanced, you will need a web browser that has a recent version of Java installed. There is a structure drawing and display applet named Marvin from Chemaxon which is available as a default. An alternative method to provide the capabilities needed to accept a structure query is the Chime plug-in which allows you to view the structures. A compatible structure drawing package such as ISIS/Draw will allow custom structure queries to be drawn. The Locator Codes are hyperlinked at the substance or web site level to biomedical databases at NLM and on the Internet and to the SuperList compilation of chemical substances of interest to Federal and state regulatory agencies. Ease of navigation from the Locator Display Page to these other Web sites and vice versa is a characteristic feature of ChemIDplus. For advanced searchers, there are three types of structure queries: Substructure Search, Similarity Search, and Exact Structure Search. ChemIDplus facilitates structure searching by providing two options that eliminate the need to draw the structure queries. One option, Use Structure for Query, pastes the retrieved structure from a previous query to the Structure Input Box while the other option, Use Structure for Similarity, starts an immediate search for similar structures. Listible - Quick Way To Get Resources
http://www.listible.com/

Listible is a new way to get relevant resources quickly. By using Web 2.0 features such as AJAX, folksonomy (tagging), social elements such as voting/commenting and the listible's listonomy (listing), resources can be sorted in a way that will be digestible. You can search what you need quick. You can contribute your resources easier. Why do we need tagging, voting and listing to sort resources? Tagging is not the full answer. Tags can give you categorization, but it could not give you a destination. If you are trying to find resources on fixing CSS for IE browser's CSS bugs, usually you go to css tag, and very high chance that you will get millions of resources that is not about anything on IE browser bugs. You can try to find information with css joined with ie tags, but how can we know everyone uses both tags? Voting cannot be the only answer for relevancy. Even though the most popular resources are on the top, if the system does not have a way to differentiate varies topics, you still wouldn't find any resources easily. Listing combined with tagging and voting gives you a greater relevancy. Finding a list called "Resources related to IE browser CSS bugs" tagged with css is easier. In each list, community can provide any relevant URLs. The most relevant and popular resource will be sorted on the top, thanks to the voting system. Is this resource listible? If it is, then you are sharing the resources to the right person. This is listible all about. There are so many different ways you can use the listible system. The sky is the only limit here. Accessibility Testing and Reporting with TAW3 by Patrick H. Lauke
http://www.ariadne.ac.uk/issue46/lauke/

When it comes to assessing a Web site's accessibility, any Web designer should know by now that simply running the mark-up though an automated testing tool is not enough. Automated tools are limited, purely testing for syntax, easily ascertained "yes or no" situations and a set of (sometimes quite arbitrary) heuristics, which are often based on an interpretation of accessibility guidelines on the part of the tool's developers. Nonetheless, automated checkers are a useful tool in the arsenal of accessibility-conscious designers, provided that their results are checked for false positives/negatives [1] and backed up by the necessary manual checks, carried out by a knowledgeable human tester who is familiar with any potential access issues and how they manifest themselves in a Web site. This article gives a quick run-down of Testo Accesibilidad Web (TAW)3 [2], a free tool - developed by the Spanish Fundación CTIC (Centre for the Development of Information and Communication Technologies in Asturias) - to test Web pages against WCAG 1.0. TAW3 is available both as an online version (similar to other tools such as Cynthia [3] and Wave [4]) and as a stand-alone java application. In this article, we will concentrate on the stand-alone version, which in version 3 is now also available in English. This has been added to Accessibility Resources Subject Tracer™ Information Blog.
